About Riva’s Shotokan Karate-Do

Riva’s Shotokan Karate-Do is a traditional martial arts school spreading the teachings, culture, and philosophy of authentic Japanese Shokotan Karate. Located in South Hills, in Pittsburgh, this dojo began by teaching traditional karate to kids between the ages of 5 and 13 years old and has grown into the only traditional family-friendly academy with an offer of classes for all ages and levels, from children to youth and adults.

The children’s programs start with Tiger Club Karate Class, classical martial arts for kids aged 5 and 6 years, where they are introduced to the basic movements and values of the discipline. As they grow, they can join the youth karate class and, for experienced preteens, the adult karate.
